This course will teach students the basics of creating a web site using HTML. It will also introduce XHTML, which is used to develop more standards-compliant web sites for greater efficiency, accessibility, and forward-compatibility. Students will also learn how to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to enhance HTML formatting. This course is recommended for beginners in web site development.
Prerequisite: Students should have a desire to learn to create web pages and web sites for personal or business use. Familiarity with keyboarding, using a mouse and basic typing is a must. Students should also have good desktop management skills: know how to create and name folders, how to name and save files, open and close applications, navigate to folders to access files, and use Internet browsers.
